Each year, The Sophisticated Gents of Florida partner with The African American Club of The Villages to raise money to support our Scholarship Initiatives.  Scholarships are awarded to selected high school seniors from Sumter, Marion and Lake Counties who pursue higher education after graduation from high school.  Most of the scholarship recipients are from low income families, and the overwhelming majority are first generation in their families to go to college.

All of the money raised come from donations from members of both organizations and our business and community partners, and from the net proceeds from our annual signature event, the Friendship Golf Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser.  This year’s Friendship Golf Tournament is scheduled for October 26, 2024.  We know many of you are looking forward to participating in this annual event, and keep in mind the tournament is but one piece of an over-arching scholarship fund-raising initiative.
